"Sequoia Theater: Reimagining Our Community Treasure"

The Sequoia Theater renovation proposes preserving the theater’s unique exterior elements while transforming it into a vibrant, state-of-the-art film arts and education center and community gathering place. The centerpiece of the project is the conversion of the existing two-screen, 604-seat theater into a new cinematic arts center with up to four separate screening rooms totaling up to 500 seats, while retaining the historic façade, expanding the lobby, and incorporating a rooftop pavilion. When finished, the theater will be a regional hub for the arts, with film screenings headlining an expansive menu of activities.

Mark Fishkin founded the California Film Institute and the Mill Valley Film Festival in 1978, and he currently serves as Executive Director and Founder.
Dane Callihan acts as the CFI Deputy Director, functioning as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Human Resources Director.
